When I was a child, I axed my father’s mistress
I chopped off her head, gallons of blood soaked the mattress
I’ll bury the hatchet, deep into your fucking skull
In death’s cold grasp, morbid fantasies thrall
I can’t control who I want to kill
A psychosis stronger than the pills
I can’t tell what my dreams are about
I just wake up foaming at the mouth
I’ll bury the hatchet, deep into your fucking skull
In death’s cold grasp, morbid fantasies thrall
I roam the streets, observing in disgust
I don’t want to look at people, but I must
Every day it gets harder to function
I fall into insane sleep and come undone!
Delusions of gruesome grandeur
Psychopathic awakenings
Rebuilding a crumbling mind
Ideations of the nightmare kind
Fucked up and vicious
Insane and malicious
Murderous temptations
Sexual frustrations
Psychopathic awakenings
Nightmares in my damaged brain!
Psychopathic awakenings
Twisted reality, now I’m unsane!
I can’t control who I want to kill
I see blood gushing, I see guts spill
And then there’s the pretty ladies head
Severed, covered in blood, and at the foot of my bed
Psychopathic awakenings
Nightmares in my damaged brain!
Psychopathic awakenings
Twisted reality, now I’m unsane!

I'm sad to see this era of Beastmaker close out but this is a phenomenal way to do! Black Butterfly might be the best thing they've ever done. dianonhead

Distilled death metal with catchy riffs and well written songs. It's not reinventing the wheel or anything but it's osdm, if that's what you want look elsewhere. grahamy
Featuring members of Noothgrush, Graves at Sea, and more, the Oakland metal band juxtapose cavernous doom with spaced-out shoegaze. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 21, 2024

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
